Meet the Herd

We follow the principal that if a horse is given the freedom to live the life intended for a herd animal in an open setting with an abundance of fresh feed and ample space to enjoy the comfort of his herd members it will transfer this sense of wellbeing and balance to his riders.

Cosmo

Energetic and wonderfully playful, thrives in group activities, bringing joy and lively interaction to sessions.

Dulce Dama

Dulce Dama entered the paddock in October 2019, with her early career interrupted by the pandemic. Despite being well-behaved in training, she was retired due to her claustrophobia. She transitioned to HWH on November 26, 2020, beginning a new chapter beyond racing.

The Rainbow Bridge

Jennifer- Where it all began... (Rest in Peace)

Before the herd, before the foundation, before the Magical Park, there was Jennifer. Jennifer was the very first horse at Healing with Horses.

Veronika’s words to Jennifer:

“Grateful you have given me a direction in my journey here in Tobago. The past 15 years you blessed us with your spirit. I learned to listen to horses by simply being in your presence. Your strength, stamina, endurance and clarity led us to where we are today. I remember your soft coat, your mane was like silk. Your movement so smooth, your body so  sensitive. So tender, yet so magnificent and energetic. Walking side by side,  flowing and dancing with you made it easy to go into the space where no control was allowed. The more I let go, the more you gave your all. A gift was felt and it is still here. That letting go lead to a whole new Universe opening and surprising me. Only by trust – this can be encountered.
Thank you beautiful chestnut mare. Your everlasting softness will continue to give us the awareness we need to be able to open our hearts and minds to embrace the importance of just being.

To Jennifer. The one who started it all.

In Loving Memory of

Lion Heart

Lionheart was the embodiment of courage and strength. Always leading with quiet dignity, he carried children and adults alike with gentleness and care. His spirit taught us resilience and compassion. He will forever remain the brave heart of our herd. Lionheart, aka‘ Hamlet, crossed the Rainbow Bridge on the 15th November 2024.

Mr. Divo

Divo brought joy with his playful spirit and kind eyes. He had a way of making everyone feel welcome, whether in the paddock or at the seaside. His gentle soul reminded us of the beauty of living in the moment. He will be deeply missed. Our goofy, sweet Mr. Divo crossed the Rainbow Bridge on the 31st March 2025.

King's Council

King held himself with a regal calm that earned him his name. Strong yet tender, he taught us patience, trust and respect. His presence in the herd was steady and grounding. He leaves behind a legacy of wisdom and quiet grace. Our darling King passed over the Rainbow Bridge on 24th October 2024.

Kalakunjin

Kalakunjin was a free spirit, full of energy and curiosity. Her connection with people was pure and joyful, bringing smiles to all who met her. Though her time with us feels too short, her memory will gallop forever in our hearts. Our beloved Kala crossed the Rainbow Bridge on the 15th September 2025

City of Gold

A Jamaican born colt, 22nd February 2012- he was the black Stallion of the herd. “City of Gold” is enjoying his new way of life here in Tobago. He loved meeting his herd at the bay, taking a good roll in the warm beach sand and calling out the horses from grazing at the Golden Grove Estate.

Apollo

Apollo began at the racetrack unnamed but never raced, as training injuries made him too slow for competition. His lively spirit will always be remembered and the impact he's made on us all. He passed away on December 15th, 2025.

"All came in our community for a reason. Each animal guided us - with their wisdom and spirit, this is how being & healing with horses organically unfolded and grew into this magical place . By simply embracing them with an open heart , learning to listen to their stories, their desires and longings, we became who we are today: the “Healing Haven”. Each soul has a purpose 🤍 we honor and deeply value their time with us. It is indeed our responsibility to remember and care for all who passed over the rainbow bridge.🌈 Many previous students and guests are visiting the cemetery regularly at the cliff top outside the magical park."
