Buccoo Integrated Summercamp
Here, we bring together approximately 100 children, ages 6-12, differently abled and with varying backgrounds, to share the experience of over fourteen different activities all geared to their level of abilities.
From 9:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday through Friday the children will be divided into small groups, each facilitated by a teacher and two group leaders. Previous years the children have enjoyed music, dance, sports, acting, arts and crafts, creative gardening, nature walks, yoga, steel pan, face painting, reef excursions, cooking and the unique experience of being with horses. The campers will spend quality time with the horses, not only riding, but also communing with the horse forming a relationship of mutual trust and affection. This special time provides the camper with an unforgettable experience opening up neural pathways and insight as well as physical strength and balance.
The Camp provides a staff of experienced teachers as well as group leaders and volunteers. We have a Camp doctor on call as well as first-aid assistance on site.
A nourishing, balanced meal with a vegetarian option is prepared by licensed chefs from the village of Buccoo. We also provide snacks and water during the day.
To further integrate the Camp, we will be accepting children from abroad. These children will be asked to sponsor one local child from Tobago or Trinidad.
